Rory Schmick is a sustainability and energy management professional with over fifteen years of experience in leadership positions in private industry, non-profit organizations, and consulting firms. He is currently Senior Technical Advisor for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s Building and Industrial Applications Department where he supports the expansion of U.S. Department of Energy programs and resources aligned to the ISO 50001 global standard for energy management systems. Rory serves as a governor-appointed member of the Oregon Sustainability Board where he provides oversight of state agency sustainability plans, as well as statewide projects that enhance social, environmental, and economic health. Previously, Rory was on the executive leadership team at Pacific Foods where he led sustainability, carbon strategy and environmental affairs. He holds a B.A. in Geography from University of Colorado and is a Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.). Rory lives in Portland and enjoys exploring natural areas with his wife, two sons, and dog, Camo.
